On 20th October 2022 from 18.00 to 19.00 BST (UTC/GMT+1 on Zoom Alan Williams and Lisa Birtles of Valuesjam will host this free interactive panel discussion.

In a post-pandemic, hybrid world, people at work value meaningful connection more than ever. Henry Mintzberg talks about a concept called communityship with David Gurteen just before our session.

We take the topic a step further exploring whose responsibility it is to drive engagement and connection between people in the workplace, and what benefits can it bring. Join our interactive panel discussion with experts and practitioners (HR Leaders, Operational Leaders, Gen Z colleagues, Communications & Engagement Leaders, small business owner) talking about how to help to connect people and create a sense of community.

By the end of the session, you will

have a deep understanding of the importance of meaningful connection between employees or communityship
hear ideas and suggestions from a diverse panel of people with experience and knowledge in the area of community building at work

**Alan Williams** Alan Williams’ core values are: • Excellence – Doing things so well that people take personal pride in their involvement, and it receives admiration from others • Creation – Fresh thinking and relationships to create value • Enjoyment – Remembering how privileged I am do be doing whatever it is • Fairness – Open, honest, doing what you say and finding a win-win • Adaptability – Agile adjustment to changing circumstances I became interested in values back in 2002 when I was looking to help organisations close the gap between what they said they stood for and how they behaved in practice. The outcome was my award winning 31Practices approach and toolkit followed by 3 further books (my equivalent of albums)! My signature tune is that “Values are for living not laminating”. Since then I have worked with progressive leaders in 34 different countries to help them deliver values driven service for sustained performance, helped to set up the not-for-profit UK & Global Values Alliances, and helped to create and grow the World Values Day movement. It’s been quite a tour!
