What is it about volunteering that can make such a difference—not only to those who receive, but also to those who give? Every day, millions of people freely offer their time, energy, skills and care to others. Sometimes this happens through organised volunteering; sometimes through small, spontaneous acts of service and kindness. Together, these actions create connections, strengthen communities and bring our values to life.
To celebrate World Values Day 2026 and its theme of Values and Volunteering, join us for an uplifting and thought-provoking conversation with speakers who will share their own experiences of volunteering from very different perspectives. We will explore what inspired them to get involved, the values that have guided them, what they have learned along the way—and why giving something of ourselves can sometimes give us something unexpected in return.
Chaired by Charles Fowler of the UK Values Alliance, the discussion will invite us to think more broadly about what volunteering can mean and how each of us, in our own way, can put our values into action. Come and discover some of the everyday magic of volunteering.
