This webinar will focus specifically on how values-based approaches can enhance the quality of care in health systems, particularly within policy and practice contexts. Drawing from the Values-20 South Africa policy paper, we will examine how grounding health systems in values such as dignity, ubuntu, ethical governance, solidarity, and agency can transform how care is delivered, experienced, and governed. This is  part of the lead-up to the Values-20 Conference and G20 Summit in South Africa, and is a joint initiative of the Values-20 South Africa team, the Collaborating Centre for Values-Based Practice in Health and Social Care (Oxford), International Working Group for Health Systems Strengthening and World Values Day.

Does your heart ache a little when you see your child’s face light up more by a screen than by a conversation with you? You’re not just imagining it. There's a silent battle being waged for our children's hearts and minds, fought on the battlegrounds of social media and academic pressure. This constant digital noise is eroding the very foundations of respect, connection, and kindness we are trying so hard to build. If you feel like you're losing this fight, please know you are not alone, and it is not your fault. The old parenting playbook is obsolete, and it’s time for a beautiful, profound shift back to what truly matters. Organised by M Pover Academy

Hope is fundamental. It motivates us to act, to keep going. But it is not optimism - expecting things to turn out as we would wish. It requires realism and courageous discernment, and is crucial to how we cope with illness, dying and disaster. For healthcare practitioners, hope is key for healing and therapeutic relationships. We will hear from distinguished doctors who care for those who face deep existential challenges - persons who are dying and migrants who are bereft and homeless. How do they nurture hope in these circumstances? Participants will be able to explore and share their own experiences when giving or receiving care. The event is organised by the Human Values in Healthcare Forum (HVHF).

Together we’ll explore three students’ experiences of navigating these dilemmas and invite your voice into the conversation. Organised by Geneva Graduate Institute and Annette Ebbinghaus.

We are living in times marked by rupture. Uncertainty, chaos, distraction, and disruption touch every part of our lives. And yet within every rupture lies the seed of repair. Repair is not about going back to what was; it is about moving forward into what might be created together. “Anyway” is the hinge between despair and determination, between fracture, repair and renewal. This lens is more than resilience. It is about agency. To love anyway, build anyway, give anyway is to choose repair even when rupture feels overwhelming. Organised by CMCCF and Wisdom of Hope.
