DR SHAZIA MUNIR is a GP in Portsmouth, UK specialising in migrant and refugee health. After GP training at UCLH, London in 2010, Shazia volunteered as GP at Doctors of the World, and worked as a medico-legal report writer for the charity Freedom from Torture. In 2014 Shazia joined the Health Inclusion Team at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation, a specialist service for the homeless, refugees and asylum seekers, and was GP Clinical Lead of the asylum seeker service from 2015 – 2023. In 2023 she moved to Portsmouth, working with asylum seekers and carrying out in-reach initial assessments on asylum seekers living in the local Home Office Initial Accommodation.
