PROFESSOR ANN HIGGINS D’ALESSANDRO has been Professor of Psychology at the Applied Developmental Psychology Doctoral Program, Fordham University, New York, for 34 years. She conducts research in school climate and educational interventions, with a focus on social cognitive processes in typical and atypical children and adolescents, and on teachers’ workplace environment. She was previously Senior Researcher for nine years at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, Center for Moral Development and Education, conducting research with Lawrence Kohlberg on democratic, civic high school interventions.
