PROFESSOR SHABINA NISHAT OMAR is Officer on Special Duty (OSD), Directorate of Public Instruction, Department of Higher Education, Government of West Bengal. She has served for 19 years as Professor of English and Head, Department of English out of which she spent 15 years as Principal-in-Charge in Milli Al-Ameen College (for girls), affiliated to University of Calcutta. She has previously taught in the leading colleges and universities of West Bengal, including St. Xavier’s College and Presidency University and Aliah University. An alumnus of Loreto College, Kolkata, and University of Calcutta, Kolkata, she has numerous national and international publications in books and journals.
